We put our core values into practice – every day
We do not merely pay lip-service to values such as teamwork, customer centricity and excellence. These values govern our day-to-day activities. Moreover, they apply to all of us – including senior executives, engineers and production staff. Because every one of us shares responsibility for our working environment, and for our shared success – today and in the future. And employees who are inspired by their work in turn will inspire others.
Combining work and family life
It is important to us that all employees are able to strike a healthy balance between their working and personal lives. For example by means of individual working time models, subsidies for childcare and optimisation of family-friendly HR policies. We have therefore been awarded the seal of approval as a "family-friendly employer in the Osnabrück region" by local family support authorities, the "Familienbündnisse von Stadt und Landkreis Osnabrück".
Health and safety at work
The health of our employees is a major asset. Corporate health protection is therefore central to many processes at Georgsmarienhütte GmbH. Regular medical examinations to monitor employees’ health, medical examinations for newly appointed employees, and medical screening and preventative care on request (e.g. colorectal cancer screening, flu vaccinations, etc.) complete the health protection measures on offer. Of course our company doctor is bound to medical confidentiality.
Safety at Work
Our most valuable asset is our employees. We protect them by providing them with the best possible working conditions and by a considerable number of work protection measures and equipment which are all subjected to constant monitoring. In Georgsmarienhütte GmbH there is ongoing further development of health and safety at work, which is applied efficiently in the works – in brief: It is an integral part of our everyday business.
TOP training company
Training of young people has a long tradition at our company and it is given high priority. In 2015 Georgsmarienhütte GmbH successfully underwent the multi-stage certification procedure of the local Chamber of Commerce (IHK Osnabrück-Emsland-Grafschaft Bentheim), which confirmed the excellent quality of training at our company. It was therefore one of the first companies in the area to become a TOP training company.
Georgsmarienhütte GmbH has also verifiably positioned itself as demographically-sound company which is fit-for-the-future. Because enterprises, companies, institutions and administrative bodies all face the challenges of recruiting, retaining and providing qualifications, and remaining attractive to older employees on the long term. Supported by Demografieagentur für die Wirtschaft, a considerable number of employers in Lower Saxony have taken steps in collaboration with their workforces to work on a social partnership-based, demographic-conscious HR policy. One of these companies is Georgsmarienhütte GmbH. In 2015 Georgsmarienhütte GmbH was one of the first companies ever to be recognised as demographically sound. The company was re-certified in 2017.
