• Conserving natural resources

As corporate activity invariably affects the environment, we make every effort to minimise impacts on nature.

• Reducing environmental pollution

Compliance with statutory regulations and requirements is the basis. We additionally look to reduce air, water and soil pollution on our own initiative, without shifting the environmental burden from one medium to another. We follow the principle of avoidance over reduction / over recycling / over disposal.

• Environmental protection concerns us all

In practice, conservation efforts function not just as a result of reliable plant technology or a watertight environmental organisation. It is more the motivation and initiative of the workforce that is key to successes in this field. For this reason Georgsmarienhütte GmbH makes adequate resources available for employee training.

• Open information policy

Georgsmarienhütte GmbH conducts an open, objective and comprehensive dialogue with the workforce and authorities as well as with local residents and the media. We provide information on the ecological impacts of facilities and processes, and on environmentally relevant events.
