Blast furnace plant established in Georgsmarienhütte due to local ore and coal deposits.
1923
Transfer of ownership to Klöckner.
1993
Management buyout by Dr.-Ing. Dr. E. h. Jürgen Großmann.
1994
Conversion of steel production from the blast furnace / converter route to the direct-current electric arc furnace process.
1997
Establishment of Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH by Dr. Großmann on the 1st of October1997. Georgsmarienhütte GmbH becomes a subsidiary of the new holding company.
2000
Installment of peeling, polishing and inspection line #5 at GMH Blankstahl GmbH.
2001
Modernisation of the continuous caster.
2002
Modernisation of the rolling mill.
2005
Modernisation of the electric arc furnace.
2006
Launch of 160 t walking-beam furnace #63 in the rolling mill.
Launch of peeling, polishing and inspection line #4 and expansion of the finished-material store at GMH Blankstahl GmbH.
2006
Georgsmarienhütte GmbH celebrates 150 years of steel from Georgsmarienhütte, inspiring Dr. Großmann to establish a foundation called "Stiftung Stahlwerk Georgsmarienhütte".

Launch of a second ladle furnace.

Modernisation of the continuous caster.
